Opera soloist Jonas Sakalauskas retires from the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Center "Litexpo"manager's duties. This decision of J. Sakalauskas was determined by personal motives, according to the press release of the company.
"I thank the board for the trust shown in me. However, I decided to pay more attention to singing and creative activities, and a little later I intend to try myself in other areas as well," J. Sakalauskas is quoted as saying in the press release.
It is announced that until the selection of a permanent manager takes place, the position of director will be temporarily held by the head of Litexpo's Service Department, Vladislavas Teriošin.
J. Sakalauskas was elected to lead Litexpo in July of last year through a competition. J. Sakalauskas previously managed the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater, from which he was forced to resign after losing the competition for the head of the institution.
J. Sakalauskas is also the former manager of the Klaipėda State Musical Theater, previously worked as an independent producer of cultural events. He graduated from ISM's master's degree in business administration and LMTA's master's degree in opera singing.
Every year, Litexpo organizes 20 exhibitions and 1 different events and conferences, attracting 500 visitors.
