The Fire Protection and Rescue Department has purchased 20 medium-sized double-cab tankers. July 19 They will be handed over to the country's fire rescue boards at the firefighter school. These are the first car tankers out of 58, due to which in 2022 the purchase agreement was signed in March. Their production was delayed due to the war in Ukraine actions in the event of supply chain disruptions. Car tanks are manufactured in Poland.
According to the Minister of the Interior, Agnė Bilotaitė, the quality of work of firefighters depends on the available equipment, techniques and working conditions. "We pay special attention to civil and fire safety. The work done by firefighters ensures public safety and protects the lives of our people. We invest in equipping and motivating our officers, which is demonstrated by the year-on-year increase in funding for statutory services. Last year, the average salary of PAGD officers increased by almost 12 percent, this year it is expected to increase by 10 percent. growth Therefore, higher salaries of officials, better working conditions and adequate provision of officials will remain our priority," says Minister A. Bilotaitė.
"For the first time in Lithuania, we purchased so many fire trucks. This is the largest purchase in the history of the fire department. These fire engines will not only improve the working conditions of firefighters, but will also help ensure the safety of residents, says Saulius Greičius, director of the Fire Protection and Rescue Department. - They are equipped with new fire extinguishing equipment. These cars are certified and meet the established safety and quality requirements."
Medium-class car tanks with double cabs are intended for going to fires and rescue operations, transporting extinguishing materials and fire extinguishing and rescue equipment, extinguishing fires. The rear of the car tanks are equipped with coupling devices capable of towing a trailer weighing at least 7 tons. Their roofs are equipped with attachments for retractable ladders, which ensure that these ladders can be removed without having to climb onto the roof.
Water tanks are made of corrosion-resistant materials. Their capacity is 3000 l. Car tanks are equipped with communication water tanks for filling directly from hydrants and through the car's fire pump.
The car tanks are also equipped with additional lighting equipment - a telescopic mast, an electric car winch, a carriage mounted on the roof, the maximum output of which is 3000 l/min.
