On Thursday, during the plenary session of the Seimas, sirens blared in the chamber, calls for evacuation sounded. According to the Seimas Chancellery, it was just a technical problem and there was no real danger.
As Justė Radzevičiūtė-Laugalienė, a representative of the Seimas Chancellery, said to Elta, a systemic fault has been identified, which will be resolved as soon as possible.
However, while some of the parliament's employees left the building and speculated about what had happened, the members of the Seimas continued to sit. According to them, sirens were not heard in the plenary hall.
Paulius Saudargas, the vice-chairman of the Seimas, who presided over the meeting, assured his colleagues that the systems heard in the corridors were just a technical failure.
