In the Pilaitė district of the capital, another attractive green zone that ensures quality life in the city will be opened for residents and guests. One of the largest real estate development companies in Lithuania, Omberg group, will establish a Lithuanian cherry orchard next to its newly created "Vyšnių" settlement and arrange a green park nearby.

The cherry trees that will grow in the garden were chosen by the residents of the capital. "Omberg group" invited to vote, which - Lithuanian or Japanese - cherry blossoms in the newly created green zone. Although Japanese sakura trees are extremely fashionable in Lithuania at the moment and attract crowds of curious people during the flowering period, the trees ripening sweet berries have won the sympathy of Vilnius residents for several decades in our country.

3460 Vilnius residents participated in the vote held on social networks in September, 1990 of them wanted In Pilaite to see growing Lithuanian cherries, 1470 - Japanese.

"I will admit that I myself voted for Lithuanian trees. Unlike sakura, common cherry species in Lithuania bear sweet fruits, so families settling in the "Vyšnių" settlement and other residents of Pilaitė will be happy not only in spring, but also in summer," says Dalia Andrulionienė, head of Omberg group.

The cherry orchard will be located next to the low-rise A++ energy class houses, but it is not the only new green area opening up for the residents of Pilaitė. The "Vyšniai" settlement is surrounded by an impressive heath on three sides. Real estate developers set out to organize this area and adapt it for pleasant leisure in natural nature.

"We are used to living in a green city and we are very protective of its nature. However, it is important to remember that, as the population continues to grow and the infrastructure expands, we must not only nurture existing, but also create new green spaces, sustainably adapt them to the needs of the population. We consider this one of the missions of our activities", says D. Andrulionienė.

According to her, it is also necessary to clean up and open this park to people because the "Vyšnių" settlement is particularly suitable for families. Here, as in all of Pilaite, many children will grow up, so living near green spaces is extremely important.

Green spaces in the city are a source of emotional health

The benefits of green spaces for cities are undoubted not only because of the cleaner air and lower average temperature they provide. Multiple studies have proven that being able to live near green spaces, regularly seeing them and spending time in them contributes significantly to solving emotional health problems.

"This becomes especially important in today's world. Growing anxiety and uncertainty about the future requires greater attention to emotional health and the creation of new green spaces - an effective way in which real estate developers can contribute," D. Andrulionienė is convinced.

An in-depth study published this year on the world's largest platform for scientific medical works, the National Library of Medicine, in the city of Poznań in neighboring Poland, revealed that during the global pandemic and the resulting quarantine, the average anxiety level of the city's residents significantly exceeded the average limit, and the most effective ways to manage tension became the opportunity to be surrounded by nature (94,70 percent of respondents) and the opportunity to see green spaces (92,16 percent). These indicators surpassed even the opportunity to be with relatives (85%).

Meanwhile, in the Spanish city of Barcelona, where just one in five people lives in a space that meets the World Health Organization's recommendations and has green areas near their homes, categorical decisions are being made to address the challenges of the residents' emotional health.

This year, an analysis carried out by the Global Health Institute of Barcelona showed that planting at least a third of the city's streets with trees and turning them into "green corridors" by 13%. reduce the use of anti-depressants and visits to mental health specialists. New green spaces would also contribute 8 percent. reduce the use of sedatives and would save 45 million euros in treatment costs every year.

"Vyšnios" is a settlement created according to the needs of the people of Vilnius

Not only the future Vyšnės garden, but also the entire "Vyšnės" settlement is being created paying close attention to the needs of modern Vilnius residents.

Low-rise houses are designed to ensure a very comfortable life for families. Flexible space planning will allow you to create a comfortable home for a long time. Elevators installed in 3-4-story buildings will allow easy access to the house with a child's stroller or carrying shopping, and underground parking lots will ensure a carefree life all year round. The courtyards in the project are planned in such a way that children can play safely in them, and adults can enjoy the peace and shelter of nature.

"We have been working in this market for 10 years, so we know our customers well. We are ready to take more than one additional step in order to make them happy for many years to live in the house we have created," says D. Andrulionienė.
