Palanga restaurant The chef of Vila Komoda, Martynas Meidus, is taking on a new project - together with the shareholders, he opened the doors of the Motif restaurant in Vilnius. This is a new challenge for the chef, because restaurant will not be intended for haute cuisine, but for everyday visits. And the concept will be the first of its kind in Vilnius - here a la carte during dinners, people will be able to listen to singers' performances. The restaurant was opened yesterday for invited guests, and it starts normal work today, October 12.

The restaurant is for both everyday and special occasions

The restaurant's creative director and one of the owners, M. Meidus, is widely known for his gastronomic competences. However, according to him, the restaurant "Motif" will be intended not only for exclusive dinners, but also for daily visits - these are the menu trends now prevailing in Western Europe.

"We want to create a place in Lithuania that meets the modern trends of the most popular European restaurants - so that it is suitable for both everyday dinners and exclusive birthday or company celebrations. The specific arrangement of the tables and the layout of the restaurant here allow you to easily immerse yourself in the bustle of conversations and get to know the people nearby, and thanks to the properly braced acoustic system, visitors will be able to talk even in a restaurant during the singers' performances. We want to create a place where it would be good and pleasant for visitors to come back again and again", says M. Meidus.  

He is the shareholder and creative director of the restaurant, but the ideas here will be implemented daily by the executive chef - experienced food technologist Povilas Zuoza. The latter worked this year at Nineteen18, recognized as the best restaurant in Lithuania, at Stebuklais, well-known to visitors, and at other famous restaurants in the country. Mr. Zuoza has been active in the field of top-level cooking for almost a decade.

"Our cooperation with Povilas will bring more experiences to our customers - Povilas will be able to add unique nuances to my gastronomic ideas, taking into account the needs of visitors," says M. Meidus.

A new European concept

It will be held in the restaurant a la carte dinners, to which people can later listen to special performances by artists and stay for a party with music. According to the creators of the restaurant, such a concept does not yet exist in Lithuania.

"Usually, after dinner, people split up and continue the evening in bars, concerts or nightclubs. In the meantime, we will offer everything in one place. Of this type restaurants, in which dinners are supplemented with performances by artists and special programs, common in Western or Central Europe, but only hints of such a concept can be seen in Lithuania. So we want to bring a bit of Milan, Paris or London trends to Vilnius and introduce people to a different dinner culture," says M. Meidus.

The owners are an experienced foursome

This unique concept restaurant is brought to Lithuania by its four owners. In addition to M. Meidaus, among them are experienced businessman and investor Darius Bivainis and co-owners of the night club "Anna Mesha" Fady Farhat and Justinas Žvigas.

"We all come from different fields with different competences, which we will bring together here in one place, so that every aspect of the restaurant and the highest quality will be handled by a professional in that field." This is required by the unique concept of the restaurant, because every evening you need to take care not only of good food, but also of music, performances of artists and the management of many different processes. I believe that together we will be able to fulfill this unique concept down to the last detail and establish it in Lithuania", says D. Bivainis.
