On April 24-28, fans of contemporary and experimental music will be united by the festival "Jauna muzika" in Vilnius. Focused on sound art and unexpected musical discoveries event – one of the longest existing contemporary music festivals in the country, it has been held since 1992. This year, the festival participants are united by the focus on genesis - the birth of a work of art and the creative process.

Internationally performers

Fourteen concerts will be held at the festival during five intense days, performers and creators from Lithuania, Ukraine, Austria, Sweden and Norway will appear.

Many "Jaunas muzik" events are free. It will be possible to hear previously unheard works, see interdisciplinary art performances, and listen to the works of young electronic and spatial music creators. Well-known names and debutants in Lithuania and abroad will perform at the festival.

Attention center - creative process

This year, the focus of "Young Music" is the creative process, birth, genesis. The idea is based on the idea of ​​the British writer Ken Robinson: "Creativity is possible where the human intelligence is actively involved."

According to the artistic director of the festival, Kateryna Alymova, the events will aim to reveal all the meanings of creativity: "This year, we are delving into the topic of creativity and the creative process, exploring the diverse experiences of artists. They draw inspiration from their environment, reflect, interpret and try to predict. The concert program will last five days, and it will lead us through the process, interconnections and transformations from the beginning of the piece to the prediction of the result."

Creative workshop su known creators

Together with local and international partners, the festival even organizes several creative workshops, the results of which will be heard and seen during the "Young Music".

"This year, the vision of the festival, among other things, is based on the collaboration of artists," he says

K. Alymova. - These are participants of art residencies and international master courses, well-known professors from the Nordic and Baltic countries, as well as Lithuanian composers and performers, who will present more than one premiere."
