Tuesday, April 9, 19 p.m. The exhibition "i'm not sure of myself but i will dance anyways or maybe it's better" by the young generation of contemporary art creators Ainė Petkūnaitė, Augustyna Sinkevič and Violeta Tvorogal will be opened in the space "Entity" located in the cultural complex SODAS 2123 (Vitebsko st. 21, Vilnius) to hide in a dungeon" ("I don't trust myself, but I'll still dance, or maybe I'd rather hide in a dungeon").

This is an exhibition of a trio of artists of the younger generation, where they come together as both artists and curators. In this way, the exhibition becomes a living, changing organism, the shape and components of which directly depend on the shape of the works and the creator's whims or doubts. Acting as if against their will, as if pushed by higher powers, artists try to free themselves from the suffocating need to create, using it or rejecting it. All this is considered by juxtaposing the labyrinths of the imagination with the underworld, and the exhibition suggests immersion as a space "favorable for an ambiguous existence between reality and unreality". Illusions, acting, surprises, disruption, instinct, intuition…

About the artists:

Ainė Petkūnaitė (人魚) is a video, sound and movement artist who works in Vilnius, Lithuania. The artist is interested in the relationship between the subject and its environment, intercorporeality, indefinite plastic structures, memory and immateriality of matter. Using an archaeological strategy, the artist collects (un)defined materials and creates various speculative and erotic stories about them.

Augustynas Sinkevič is a visual art creator of the young generation, currently studying photography and media arts at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. Observing the environment around him, everyday life, the creator takes pictures, films, writes and draws, and accumulates all this. The artist is interested in things that are hard to name or cannot be named at all - intuition, imagination, alternative realities, coincidences, the possibility of a different existential experience provided by creativity.

Violeta Tvorogal - animator, creator of interdisciplinary art. He currently resides in Vilnius, studying at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. Creates 2D and 3D animation, as well as sculptures and objects.

The opening of the exhibition is in 2024. April 9 At 19:XNUMX, during the opening, Ainė Petkūnaitė's (人魚) performance "Swimming together" will take place.
