The bell tower of the Vilnius Cathedral, which has become a symbol of the city, opened its doors to visitors seven years ago, on May 14-15. suggests celebrating a birthday together! Vilnius residents and city guests are invited to create their own bell towers from various materials, share memories, stories, and photos related to this historical place. The authors of the best stories and works will be awarded, and the works will be exhibited in the bell tower itself. In addition, gifts and surprises await all birthday visitors!

The bell tower of the cathedral is not a traditional museum, its biggest exhibit is the tower itself, the masonry of which dates back to the 45th century. After climbing the impressive wooden structures, visitors are greeted at the top by the mechanism of the city's oldest clock, which still counts the hours, and a XNUMX-meter-high view of the city panorama. in 2002 Vilnius in the cathedral square six new bells were consecrated and raised - a gift of the Archdiocese of Cologne to Vilnius Cathedral and the city. Every day, at 17 p.m., four of them ring for five minutes. It is a memorable, unforgettable time, which allows you to enjoy up close and feel the sound of the big bells with your whole body. All the big bells of the tower can be heard through St. Mass, solemn processions, important events of religious life.
