The 400-year-old story of the immortal fighter "Kalnietis" attracted millions of viewers around the world - from the youngest to the oldest - to the television screens in the 90s. Duncan McLeod, a sword virtuoso from the mountains of Scotland, became a television icon whose name probably everyone has heard even today.

To the joy of the fans, the main actor of the series, Adrian Paul, announces that he is coming to Lithuania. On May 25-26, the actor invites you to meet "Litexpo" - at the biggest popular culture event in the Baltic States "Comic Con Baltics 2024 powered by Samsung". Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to take part in exclusive live discussions, ask relevant questions, learn more about his personal acting experience, his approach to roles and behind-the-scenes secrets. Fans will have the opportunity to get the actor's signature or even take a picture together.

The actor's career is already 35 years old

"Many of us probably still well remember the emotions created by the Queen song "Princess of the Universe" created especially for the project in the introduction of the "Kalnietis" series. How eagerly we all looked forward to the new episode every week! "Kalnietis" was and still is among the most prominent television projects shown in Lithuania in the 90s. We are glad that we have such a partner as Samsung, thanks to which the talented actor Adrian Paul, who played Duncan MacLeod, will visit us in Vilnius in May," says Tomas Vievesis, one of the organizers of the Comic Con Baltics 2024 powered by Samsung event.

Adrian Paul started his acting career in 1987. In more than three decades in theater, television and film projects, the Briton has not only performed almost 70 roles, but also produced and directed a number of popular television and film films.

The actor is still actively filming. Adrian Paul is currently working on six different new projects.

Not only an icon, but also a virtuoso of the sword

The actor gained the greatest popularity with the main role in the "Kalniečios" series created and shown in 1992-1998. The actor portrayed the main character of the series, Duncan MacLeod. This is an immortal and invincible fighter born in the Scottish mountains in the 400th century, who has been fighting the forces of evil for more than XNUMX years. The series portrays the hero in modern society, continuing his mission but hiding his true nature.

The outstanding skill of the actor, which helped him get a role in the TV series "The Mountaineer", is mastering the art of fighting with swords. In order to control his emotions and energy, Adrian Paul started learning martial arts early in his career, as soon as he arrived in Los Angeles. These lessons became one of the main reasons that led to his role in the series. He was trained in swordsmanship by James Gilbert Anderson, Hollywood's most prominent swordsman choreographer. A little later, while filming in the series, the actor also studied Chinese martial arts, applying the acquired knowledge on the set.

The actor played in all 119 episodes of "The Mountaineer", during which he became a real virtuoso of swordsmanship. Even later, after the end of the production of the series, these skills accompanied Adrian Paul like his signature - the actor applied them in other roles as well.

At the sixth event, visitors will also see presentations of the latest computer games and technologies in the exclusive "Baltics Gaming Expo" space, the largest in the Baltic States. cosplay competition, presentations of the latest films, announcements and discussions, the "Meet Lithuanian Film Industry" platform, which invites you to participate in conversations with the brightest, world-renowned representatives of the Lithuanian film industry, an interactive family space, the "Artists' Alley" which brings together almost a hundred popular culture artists every year, many interesting things offering a merchant space, impressive decorations from the world's most famous films and series and many other interesting things.
