On April 27, the festival of embedded music "Muzika in space" invites you to an event marking an extraordinary occasion - a musical tour of the premises of the Government House by composer Matas Drukteinis and the contemporary music ensemble "Synaesthesis".

This year we celebrate Lithuania's membership in the EU and NATO twenty years. This anniversary is a great opportunity to look back and evaluate the path our country has taken, what cooperation with the EU and NATO allies has given us and what we ourselves have been able to give them, what are the links of Lithuanian, European and Euro-Atlantic identity.

One of the examples marking the state's achievements and the growth of the creative society is the 10th edition of the embedded music festival "Music in space". During this period, the festival exploring the connections between music, environment and socio-culture "voiced" half a dozen spaces in the city of Vilnius and its surroundings.

Specially created works by Lithuanian and foreign composers sounded in places such as the towers of the Television or Gediminas Castle, the Palace of the Lords, the house of the village community of the Forty Tatars, various city museums, parks, churches, even the Vilnelė river! Listeners were invited to delve into topics important to society: social stereotypes, the relationship between man and the state, time and others, and with the series of events "Music for Vilnius" - to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the capital.

This time, the "Music in space" festival combines its own and the state's anniversaries and April 27. 13 p.m. The Government House is presenting a special event - the work "60 cm" by the composer Matas Drukteinis. The piece performed by the contemporary music ensemble "Synaesthesis" and the installation accompanying it will open the spaces of the building to the most interesting local contexts for the composer and invite not only an unusual acquaintance with the Government Palace, but also to reflect on Lithuania's path towards the most important achievements - past and future.

According to Matas Drukteinis, the complex designed by architect Vytautas Edmundas Čekanauskas combines the historical memory and the present of our country, reflects the cultural identity encoded in both the architecture and the building's function and daily activities, and preserves an innumerable number of stories leading through the vicissitudes of the country, personalities and events.

"While delving into the history of this building, the architecture, and the work of Čekanauskas, I discovered various references and connections with both myself and topics that often arise during public discussions. First of all, it is our relationship with the environment, the place, the connection of the present with the past. Here I also realized the power of light as another dimension. At the same time, I was impressed by the qualities of the architect - attention to detail, ability to manage monumentality, preservation and even formation of Lithuanian identity in his work. I tried to reveal all this in the work, which, I hope, will broaden your horizons, and most importantly - will allow you to appreciate what we have created in the past and now is special", intrigues M. Drukteinis.

The building itself in 1982. is born as a paradox - the modest, inconspicuous building of the Central Committee of the TSR, marked by the features of Scandinavian modernism. As soon as Lithuania regained its independence, the Government of the Republic of Lithuania settled here.
