Taking place on September 1-3, the biggest Vilnius festival "Sostinės dienos" invites everyone - both lovers of solid events and those inclined to entertainment of a lighter content - townspeople and guests to gather their wrists full of special impressions.
Continuing the traditional entertainment of the festival, which is loved by the townspeople and guests, "Sostinės dienos" invites you to visit the "Good Food Bank", located on the Neris embankment near White bridge – here is the king's huge festival of food trucks. Refined, exotic, sophisticated and completely different dishes will be prepared by different restaurants, both widely recognized and new chefs and enthusiastic startups.
Citizens who appreciate innovation will be able to enjoy not only the secrets of the kitchen, but also the sounds of world music and performances by famous artists in this space. Representatives of a wide variety of musical styles will perform on the stage "Atspindžiai" on the water of the Neris River from Friday evening to Sunday evening. On Friday, the beginning of the concerts was entrusted to the performer Petunija, later the alternative music performer Kristijonas Ribaitis, the temperamental "Rakija Klezmer Orkestar" and the highly anticipated "Baltos varnos" will delight the audience.
On Saturday at noon, the ambitious Top 10 DJ Championship will take place on this stage, after which we will hear the musical gifts of singers Gintė and Liuce, the creative improvisations of Mesias, the audience's favorite, and the performance of the much-awaited Konstantin Lilo. And late in the evening, the world of the king of "drum&bass" will be on this stage - this will be the first stage of Lithuanian artists of this style, where one of the most prominent "drum&bass" creators in Lithuania will appear - DJ eFly and the duo "One Life & Joyce" (DnB live). "Drum&bass style is special, and creating it is our vocation, so we definitely give this gift to our beloved city and we are happy that we are the first Lithuanians to perform this kind of music at the festival. We literally bring drum&bass from the underground, says MC and singer Evelina Jocytė "Joyce" of the duo "One Life & Joyce", half jokingly, half seriously.
And on Sunday, the "Reflections" stage will be dominated by hip-hop and music related to it and relevant to young people, which will be performed by DJ Alko, Soft Scrts, rapper Pijus Opera, groups "Micro One", "Despotin Fam" and "Freestarz".
In the big meadow near the White Bridge, from morning to evening, the "Amusement Park for Children and Families" will again be set up, where there will be plenty of special attractions, games and entertainment - impressive trampolines, jumping with rubber ropes, carousels and other fun adventures for the little ones: diving into giant plastic bubbles it will be possible to swim in the large water pool without getting wet, ride the circus train and try other unusual entertainment.
This year's "Capital Days" cannot be imagined without gifts to Vilnius in 700 AD. on the occasion of the anniversary. One of them is an impressive exhibition of 24 flags, prepared by the students of Ukmergė Art School based on their drawings created for this occasion. According to the curator of this project, VDA associate professor and Ukmergė art school teacher Česlov Lukenskas, the flags for Vilnius were created from more than 50 submitted drawings. "Creating a flag is quite complicated, it must be done in accordance with the rules of heraldry. The students were asked to draw Vilnius as they see it and were told that their drawings would be used to make flags," said Č. Lukensk. The exhibition "Gift to Vilnius" will decorate the capital and In Užupi, the Fluxus bridge (Malūņu str. 5) located next to the new building of the Academy of Fine Arts.
