Celebrating its 70th anniversary, the national dance ensemble "Ugnelė" gives the citizens 6 performances in the public spaces of the capital in the months of April-June: in the Municipality Square, On the Cathedral Square, in the Hobbyverse amphitheater of the capital's children and youth center.
"The anniversary concert series is a gift of all time for Ugne people, of which about 70 should be created in 12 years, as well as for fans of national dance and all citizens of Vilnius. It is an opportunity for everyone to get to know, enjoy and admire the Lithuanian folk dance, to discover the traditions and customs of various regions of the country through dance, related to everyday life and holidays, work and rest, joys and worries", says Ligita Didžulienė, long-time manager of "Ugnelės".
Performances of "Ugneles" and friends:
- April 17., on Wednesday, 16.00 hours In the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports (A. Volano str. 2).
- April 22, on Monday, 16.00 hours – On Municipality Square (Konstitucijos pr., near the European shopping center and Vilnius city municipalities).
- April 25., Thursday, 16.00 hours – On the Cathedral Square, Folk Dance Festival "Friends for Friends" (next to the Vilnius Archcathedral Basilica, Katedros a. 2.). The program includes other folk dance groups from all over Lithuania: "Aukštaitukas", "Pynimėlis", "Saulužė", "Šėltinis", "Vieversa", "Viltis".

It is one of the largest and most traditional children's and youth folk dance groups in Lithuania, operating since 1954. The purpose of the ensemble is not only to nurture Lithuanian folk traditions and introduce them to the younger generation, but also to develop a creative personality. The managers of "Ugnele" focus not only on the result, but also on comprehensive personality development.
According to Ligita Didižulienė, head of the "Ugnelės" collective, every year the "Ugnelės" ensemble grows and expands its circle of community more and more. At the moment, about 300 participants attend the HOBIVERSE "Ugnelės" ensemble in the capital's children and youth center.
Over 70 people danced, sang and played in "Ugnelė" for 12 years. members.
This ensemble demonstrated the traditions of Lithuanian national culture in Germany, France, Turkey, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Martinique, Taiwan, Mexico, Spain, Sardinia and other countries. "Ugnelė" won prizes in Great Britain, JAV, Sweden and other international festivals.
