With more than 100 films in the repertoire and more than 50 events in various locations in major cities, starting this Thursday, March 14, "Cinema springinvites you not only to watch Oscar-nominated and awarded films that have been evaluated at the world's most important festivals, but also to participate in special festival events. From a first-time special opening for children to a long-standing short film night at the cinema, organizers believe there will be something for everyone.

The executive director of the festival, Konradas Kazlauskas, is happy that "Kino pavasaris" brings together all those who love movies, music, fashion or art more and more every year. "The film festival is not only showing films, it is also various meetings, discussions, exhibitions, events, special places where you can visit after the session to share your impressions, he says. - That's why I'm very happy that this year's rich film repertoire will be supplemented by events and activities that will help you get to know cinema more deeply and authentically and perhaps give a start to new ideas, future projects or a gathering of like-minded people, from which many good initiatives can be born."

Opening of "Cinema Spring" for children and special screenings for mothers and fathers

In order to raise a new generation that loves cinema, this year the organizers of the festival on March 16 invites parents and their children for the first time to a holiday specially dedicated to them - the opening of "Kino pavasaris" for children, which will take place on the same day in Vilnius, Beautiful ir Klaipėda. The participants of the opening will be greeted by animators and their created characters, who will involve the participants in a lively commotion. Children will be entertained - two cartoons, creative tasks, dances, games and feasts.

"We want the festival to be as friendly and accessible to everyone as possible," say the organizers of "Kino pavasaris", offering special screenings this year for mothers and fathers raising babies and small children. The movie theater "Fairytale" will host the movies "Monster", "Ryuichi Sakamoto | Opus, "How to Have Sex" and "I'm the Captain" screenings that you can bring your little ones to. Comfortable armchairs, fully dimmed lights and a reduced sound level will ensure that adults and children feel as cozy and calm as possible during the sessions during both weekends of the festival.

To unleash creativity - a performance by the Italian duo "Underground" and creative workshops for children

Fossick Project, a duo of Italian artists Cecilia Valagussa and Marta del Grandi, uses unusual artistic formats and tells stories inspired by the world's landscapes and endangered species. During "Kino pavasaris", on March 15, the artists will perform a live audio and visual storytelling performance "Underground". The hour-long live performance focuses on soil, the mysterious and life-sustaining medium on Earth that is endangered by humans. The performance artists offer a new look at agricultural progress and climate change and encourage us to think about the role of each of us in creating a sustainable world.

March 17 the duo will invite the little visitors of the festival to the activities of liberating creativity - a special musical story and video workshop will be held at the MO Museum, during which children will go on an enriching adventure with the help of artists - they will learn to create a unique audio and video story, practically using the resources of their imagination and examining environmental issues. The story created during the creative workshop will be shown to the parents of the little creators.

Fashion in the cinema can be recognized in many different ways: while some look for reflections of trends of different periods on the screen, others are interested in the formation of the character's psychological character by choosing the most suitable clothes, and others admire the costumes created by the world's most famous fashion designers. Therefore, a short lecture by fashion journalist Deimantė Bulbenkaitė is an invitation to get to know the fundamental intersections of fashion and cinema, which tell a lot not only about movies, but also about ourselves.

Countless hours of work and tens of thousands of frames painted with oil paints - during the festival it will be possible to admire the paintings painted by Lithuanians, brought to life in the film "The Villagers" by directors Hugh Welchmann and DK Welchmann. Authors of the paintings: Aistė Kanapickaitė, Jolanta Spangevičiūtė, Gustė Mergiūnaitė, Gintarė Maskaliūnienė, Justina Zigmantaitė, Oskaras Dainovskis, Vilija Dabkevičienė. In Vilnius, the exhibition will take place on the 3rd floor of the "Forum Cinemas Vingis" movie theater, in Kaunas - in the "Romuva" movie house.

The beginning of the unique creative process of "Kaimiečių" was usual - working on the movie set and filming. However, later, frame by frame, 70 artists from Poland, Ukraine, Serbia and Lithuania painted more than tens of thousands of film frames in an extremely complex realistic manner. This process lasted more than two years, and the artists spent more than 200 thousand on the project. hours.

The festival includes a secret screening and a screening with live voice acting

To the film "blindfolded", following the hot footsteps of the description - the most curious viewers are invited to trust the organizers and go on a secret adventure this "Cinema Spring". The secret film is another festival news, with a world-class cast, a stunning soundtrack, a dangerous desire for revenge, spices of surrealism, a blood-curdling journey marked by it. The name of the film will be revealed only after the lights go down in the cinema hall. The organizers say that this is an exclusive opportunity for the first to see the film, because it will not reach cinemas all over Lithuania until autumn.

March 16 all fans of animation are invited to a special screening of the animated film "Chicken Lindai!", which will be voiced live by Lithuanian actors. This is a unique, especially rare opportunity not only to see a humorous film for the whole family, but also to hear the emotions and uniquely created atmosphere right here in the cinema hall.

The tradition of "Cinema Spring" for the most enduring is the night of short films

5 hours of short films and an irresistible desire to be in the cinema until dark - March 23. In Vilnius and Kaunas, the festival invites those whose love for cinema cannot be broken even by sleep.

A marathon of 20 short films will turn into a whirlwind of sharp, comic or even nightmarish sensations. On the big screen, viewers will see electrified kisses, wonderful and dreamy worlds, bits of magical realism and a wide geographical map.
