After BMI Group, Europe's largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer, opened a global business services center in Vilnius, the representative of the group says that the company's investment in Lithuania is long-term.
Arūnas Lingė did not disclose how much money BMI Group invested in development in Lithuania.
"I will not mention specific amounts, but the investments are certainly significant. "BMI Group" comes with a really long-term investment, an agreement has been signed both with "Invest Lithuania" and with our Government regarding the creation of jobs. We are sticking to that plan and hope to be an attractive employer for many years," the group's head of global services told reporters at the center's opening on Tuesday.
The company has already hired more than 120 highly qualified finance, human resources, information technology and master data management staff, and is looking to increase that number to 150.
"The first phase is to reach 150 employees this year by expanding the range of services and expanding the number of countries we work with at BMI Group," said A. Lingė.
With more than 200 years of activity, BMI Group is Europe's largest producer of flat and pitched roof coverings. The company also operates in African and Asian countries. The new team from Lithuania will provide global services to BMI Group teams around the world.
BMI Group is part of the global industrial company Standard Industries, which develops technologies and investments, construction solutions, innovative materials, real estate management and next-generation solar energy technology.
