The construction of the Technology Development Center started on Tuesday in the Vilnius City Innovation Industrial Park (VCIIP). In total, the operator of the park "Northtown Vilnius" plans to invest more than 16 million in the building project. euros.
As indicated in the distributed message, most of the more than 4 thousand sq. meters of the building area will be occupied by specialized life sciences laboratories. Office premises will be established in the other part of the building. In addition, life sciences companies will be located in the building, and an open access bioinformatics center will operate.
According to the head of Northtown Vilnius, Gedimin Pauliukevičius, this Technology Development Center will give the park the opportunity to attract sustainable companies operating in the field of life sciences and create physical conditions for faster development of their innovations and technologies.
"There is a great shortage of spaces where life science companies can settle in premises adapted to them, although they are in quite high demand - both Lithuanian and foreign investors are constantly inquiring about them," G. Pauliukevičius is quoted in the report.
It is stated that investments in the building project will amount to more than 16 million. euros, of which 9,5 million EUR are financed by the loan funds of the national development institution "Investicių ir verslo garantijas".
The end of the construction of the technology development center is expected in the third quarter of 2025.
Investments in the development of VCIIP until the beginning of 2024 amounted to more than 74 million. euros.
