As the "Michelin" evaluators are planning to visit Lithuania this year, the tourism promotion agency "Travel in Lithuaniaplans to purchase related services for 1,67 million. euros, the "15min" portal announces.
"Keliauk Lithuania" representative Dovilė Seliukė says that this price is not only the price of the visit of "Michelin" representatives to Lithuania.
"The validity of the contract is 3 years, so the specified amount is estimated for 3 years. Behind that is the evaluation, and publicity, and other additional actions that may happen in the next 3 years. (…) We want to emphasize that the amount of the public procurement is not equal to the amount or price of the contract, these are different things," she told the portal.
According to her, specific agreements are confidential information and D. Seliukė cannot comment on them yet. The purchase is planned to start at the beginning of the second quarter.
Last December, Minister of Economy and Innovation Dawn Armonaitė announced that the first one should appear in Lithuania in 2024 restaurant with a Michelin rating. At that time, it was speculated that the visit of Michelin guides to Lithuania could cost about 500 thousand. euros.
