The owners of the "Daktaras desertas" dessert shop, which was previously involved in name disputes with the State Food and Veterinary Service (VMVT), are considering selling this brand, "Verslo žinios" reports on Monday.

One of the founders of the dessert company, Marius Dijokas, told the portal that this is being considered after the price of raw materials and dessert ingredients has increased, since, according to him, the company produces products from more natural, more expensive materials.

"Last year, some suppliers raised the price every two months, and at the end of the year, you can see that it almost tripled," M. Dijokas told the portal.

According to the co-founder of "Daktaro Deserto", the brand could be taken over by a larger production business, which could supply products to retail chains, change or expand the assortment.

The widely discussed disagreements between "Daktaras desertas" and VMVT arose back in 2021, when the dessert company announced on social networks that VMVT offered them to change the name, logo, unusual interior, and employees' clothes of the dessert store, thus stopping the communication they chose.

However, in response to this, VMVT assured that the institution does not seek to change the name of the dessert shop, but requires that the company organize the labeling of its products and provide consumers with mandatory information.
