The national airline of LatviaAir Balticannounced that it had conducted the first test of SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet communication system on its Airbus A220-300 aircraft.

According to the report, the ground test was carried out at the airline's base in Riga, and the in-flight communication system was tested with the participation of employees of Air Baltic and the service provider.

Air Baltic notes that it plans to equip its entire fleet of A220-300 aircraft with the Starlink system, so that every passenger can smoothly use this satellite Internet service during the entire trip.

Air Baltic flies from Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn and Tampere to more than 100 destinations in Europe, Scandinavia, the CIS and the Middle East.

97,97 percent Air Baltic's shares are owned by the Latvian state, the rest by Danish investor Lars Thuesen's company Aircraft Leasing 1.
