Many Lithuanians living abroad or visiting there know Primark, a chain of cheap new clothes.
The company that manages it recently opened another store in Poland continues to expand in Europe.
Plans to open more stores
Associated British Foods, which owns the Primark supermarket chain, announced further store expansion in its latest half-year performance report.
During the mentioned period, the retail chain opened new stores in France, Spain and Poland. There are already 6 Primark stores in the neighboring country.
In addition, the company announces that it will soon open its first store in Hungary.
The chain announces that it currently has a total of 440 stores in various countries. Among them - in Eastern Europe: the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania and the aforementioned Poland.
The report states that by 2026 Primark plans to have a total of 530 stores.
So the tv3.lt portal asked the shopping network about its plans to expand in Lithuania or other Baltic countries.
In a comment sent on Wednesday evening, its representatives did not rule out the possibility of opening a store in Lithuania, but did not reveal specific plans.
A Primark representative commented on the situation as follows:
“It's great to hear that people would like to have a Primark store nearby. As a growing business, we are always looking for new opportunities for store locations. In any case, we cannot comment on speeches, where else they may be open."
At the end of March, the Polish retail chain "HalfPrice" opened its first store in Lithuania.
Another Polish clothing chain, Pepco, started expanding a little earlier and is already operating in many cities.
