Shops are closed on Sundays in many European countries, an old tradition associated with the idea of ​​Sunday as a day of rest. It allows employees and their families to spend time together and also encourages recreation together. Some countries and regions may have exemptions that allow small grocery stores or shops in tourist areas to open, but larger shopping centers and malls are closed.
