May 26 The Antanas Gustaichis Aviation Institute (AGAI) of the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) invites everyone to the first free Drone Festival in Lithuania, which will take place at the Kyviškių airfield (Lakūnų street 1, Kyviškių village). Both drone professionals and those who are just starting to think about their own flying machine will be welcome at the festival.
During the festival, drone controller competitions, racing drone performances, lectures and discussions, certification of controllers and drones, manufacturers' and sellers' fair will take place.
Drone competitions are for all drone enthusiasts who want to show off their piloting skills and compete with their peers. Drones of various types and classes can participate in the competition - both homemade and purchased. The rules of the competition are quite simple - you will need to fly and land in the shortest time on the pitches located in different places. For each site where the drone lands, the pilot will receive the corresponding number of points. Additional points will be awarded for an additional task, during which you will need to photograph a hidden object.
A drone race will also take place during the event. They are organized by the "Drone Racing Lietuva" community. In Lithuania, drone racing started to become popular two years ago. During the race, drone pilots compete to see who can cover the set course the fastest. 6-8 drones fly at the same time, the fastest one wins. Aircraft specially prepared for racing can reach speeds of more than 150 km/h. Don't miss the chance to see it during the event!
Drone professionals will present various innovations and achievements at the festival: the company "Square" will talk about trends in video production and photography with drones, representatives of the Civil Aviation Administration will introduce the latest features of drone space regulation, AGAI will present a new specialization in unmanned aircraft engineering in the Avionics study program, etc.
Students, scientists and entrepreneurs will be able to get acquainted with self-made drones and equipment innovations at the homemade drone exhibition and vendor fair that will be held at the festival.
During the drone festival, anyone who wants to can fly and learn drone control using special educational drones.
