A design and project supervision services contract has been signed in Trakai District Municipality, marking a significant development of sports and leisure infrastructure in the area. It is planned that the new complex will be adapted to various age groups and needs - from professional sports to family recreation, senior health and active leisure.
The Lentvaris swimming pool building is planned to include six 25-meter swimming lanes, a SPA area with saunas. The building also includes two gyms - a fitness area and a group exercise area.
"It is extremely important for the Trakai district to have a place where everyone - from children to seniors - can play sports and spend time actively. I am sure that this swimming pool will significantly contribute to the well-being of the district's residents and the development of healthy habits," says Andrius Šatevičius, Mayor of the Trakai District Municipality.
Lentvaris – a new center of attraction
In recent years, the Trakai district has seen significant investments in infrastructure, so Lentvaris was not chosen for the construction of the swimming pool by chance. It will be located in a strategically convenient location: nearby are the Lentvaris Motiejus Šimelionis Gymnasium and the Lentvaris Cultural Center, and nearby is the landscaped surroundings of Lake Bevardis and the Family Park.
"The swimming pool will also be attractive to people living in Vilnius. More and more businesses are being established near Lentvaris, new residential blocks are being built here, and more and more residents of the capital are moving to the Trakai district. I am glad that we have the opportunity to meet the needs of residents," says A. Šatevičius.
