Residents and visitors of the Old Town were surprised: one day they noticed the covered sculpture "Margutis". Before people panicked that something bad had happened to the sculpture, the municipality reassured them that everything was fine with it.
The sculpture will soon be unveiled and will welcome the spring holidays renewed.
"The Margutis is being renovated by its author, artist Lijana Turskytė. According to the municipality, it should be unveiled by Easter," says Gabrielius Grubinskas, Vilnius city municipalities Media relations specialist.
The history of this egg is truly long and interesting. At the beginning of the 300st century, such eggs were supposed to be placed in all the renovated districts of the capital, but this did not become a beautiful tradition. The 2003 kg egg was placed on a granite column in 2007. In XNUMX, artist and designer Lijana Turskytė turned it into an egg for the first time.
