City traffic is not just movement. It is a common flow in which different traffic participants meet every day: pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, couriers, whose routes intersect on the same streets. In the warm season – spring and summer – this movement becomes even more intense: the number of micro-mobility vehicles – bicycles, electric scooters, e-bikes – increases in cities. In order to contribute to the culture of safe traffic in Lithuania and consistently inform couriers about the need to always be careful, the technology company “Volt" is initiating a road safety campaign, which aims to remind courier partners that road safety is not an option, but a necessity.
The campaign is not about moralizing, but about empowering. It is a practical invitation to stop, take stock of your habits, and understand that even a small inattention can have big consequences. Although the initiative is primarily aimed at Wolt courier partners who maneuver between cars, pedestrians, and other cyclists every day, the campaign’s message is universal: traffic is everyone’s responsibility.
"Safe behavior on the road is an integral part of every delivery - this is the only way we can ensure that orders reach people smoothly and without risk. City traffic today is intense, fast and often unpredictable, so everyone is responsible for it - both the driver, the pedestrian and the courier. After all, the city must accommodate everyone. Operating in many European cities, we see our mission clearly - to help couriers feel safe on their daily trips and protect those around them and other road users. To this end, we constantly communicate with courier partners and invest in knowledge, tools and solutions that help form responsible habits and create a safer environment for all road users," says Mantas Lomsargis, CEO of Wolt Baltics.
During the campaign, couriers are invited to take part in a knowledge test based on real-life situations in Lithuanian cities – from navigating the Old Town to visibility in poorly lit courtyards. The test is particularly relevant now, when the spring and summer seasons see a significant increase in the number of not only couriers but also all other active road users on the streets – therefore, it is important to reassess and strengthen safe behavior habits. The questions also cover topics such as vehicle maintenance, reaction to bad weather conditions and habits that help avoid accidents.
The project is not limited to internal communication. During it, Wolt will also share safety recommendations for drivers, cyclists, scooter riders and pedestrians, drawing attention to the fact that traffic culture is created not by signs, but by people.
The initiative reflects Wolt’s broader commitment to supporting couriers who deliver thousands of orders across Lithuania every day. By developing tools, educational tools and motivational systems, the company aims to maintain the highest standards of safety, transparency and respect in the modern platform economy. This project is also closely linked to the Wolt Better Cities program, an initiative that promotes urban sustainability, safety and greener mobility by creating an environment in which all road users would be happy and safe to live and move.
