Travel traffic increased the most on the days of Beyonce's concerts
"Compared to the week before, on the days of the Beyonce and Harry Styles concerts, June 27-28, July 2, and this weekend in general, we observe an increase in tourists from Lithuania traveling to neighboring Poland. The number of travelers from Lithuania increased the most on June 28," says G. Jankauskas, DATA ATLAS product manager and data scientist.
According to him, on June 28, the day of Beyonce's second concert in Warsaw, the number of travelers to Poland increased by 33 percent. A few percent less growth of travelers was recorded on the day of the singer's first concert. On June 27, the flow of Lithuanians traveling to Poland grew by 29 percent.
A slightly smaller increase in the number of travelers was recorded on the day of the Harry Styles concert and before it. On the weekend, 10 percent has been fixed since Friday. increase in the flow of tourists from Lithuania. Meanwhile, on Sunday, July 2, the day of the Harry Styles concert, 5 percent went to Poland. a larger number of Lithuanians than usual.
In June, Poland got 55% more tourists from Lithuania
G. Jankauskas says that higher flows of travelers from Lithuania to Poland were recorded not only on the mentioned days, but also throughout the month of June. According to him, in June, compared to May, the number of travelers from Lithuania to Poland increased by 55 percent.
In June, Lithuanians traveled more actively to other countries as well. For example, comparing the penultimate week of June with the identical week of May, the flow of tourists from Lithuania traveling to various countries increased by about 30 percent.
"A large flow of travelers from Lithuania, as usual, is recorded in the neighboring area as well in Latvia. However, in June, I would like to single out the Balkans the most: increased tourist flows were recorded in Slovenia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Montenegro. In the latter, compared to April, the number of tourists from Lithuania increased from several dozen to several thousand per week," says G. Jankauskas.
