Divers have hooked a second rope to the sunken armored vehicle in a swamp at the Pabradė training ground, the United States Navy (JAV) headquarters of the army in Europe and Africa.
"Now that the second rope is attached, the Hercules can be secured to prevent it from sinking further into the swamp," the US European and African Command's Facebook page reads.
It is said that work on pulling the armored vehicle should begin early in the morning.
"This process is expected to be time-consuming and will require considerable effort, as the terrain surrounding the peatland remains difficult. However, this will not deter rescuers," the US military wrote.
Chief of the Defence Staff Remigijus Baltrėnas confirmed on Sunday evening that divers managed to hook the first rope to the sunken armored vehicle at the Pabradė training ground.
