A memorial service for those killed in Lithuania is being held in Vilnius on Thursday. JAV ceremony honoring and farewelling soldiers.
As reported by the Ministry of National Defense (MND), the farewell ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. in Vilnius. On the Cathedral Square.
"Every U.S. a soldier "There is also a Lithuanian soldier. The pain of their relatives is our pain. Let's be strong together," the ministry noted in an invitation on its Facebook account.
ELTA reminds that early Monday morning, a sunken armored vehicle was pulled from a swamp near the Pabradė training ground and the bodies of three missing US soldiers were found. On Tuesday, the body of a fourth soldier was also found in the swamp.
Four soldiers with a tracked vehicle M88 "Hercules" went missing at the General Silvestras Žukauskas training ground in Pabradė last week - officials received a report about it on Tuesday. The missing - US soldiers are from the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division.
Shortly after the announcement, a search and rescue operation was launched, involving both Lithuanian and US soldiers, firefighters, the Air Force, border guards, allies from Poland and Estonia, and other officials and experts.
The Lithuanian Prosecutor General's Office has already launched a pre-trial investigation to determine the cause of the soldiers' deaths.
