In November, the Youth Theater will be held in memory of the director Eimuntas Nekrošius events. The main event is November 23, 24. tours of the Warsaw National Theater are organized. The last performance of E. Nekrošius "Weddings" based on the play of the same name by Witold Gombrowicz will be shown. E. Nekrošius started his creative path in the youth theater, and the farewell to his last work will take place here.

"Eimuntas Nekrošius did not seek relevance in his work, but his performances are rarely relevant. He once said: “I'm not looking for anything new. All I'm looking for is humanity and warmth in cold and bitter material." This is what makes the Nekrošius theater of inestimable value today. And how Atlantis sinks into nothingness with every disappearing work of the director...", says the head of the Youth Theater, Audronis Liuga.

"Weddings" by W. Gombrowicz - one of the most significant XNUMXth century works of Polish dramaturgy. This play not only broke the canons of the romantic tradition, but also promoted a change in theatrical language. For directors of different generations, transferring "The Wedding" to the stage becomes a challenge, and the best interpretations are recorded in the history of contemporary Polish theater.

Where to look for a new beginning in the ruins of the old world order? What do we face in life: with other people or with our own image? Does our world create itself among us? And if so, where does "so much noise" come from when we are with others? To these essential questions of W. Gombrowicz's work, E. Nekrošius looks for answers in the production of "The Wedding Party" in his own way, without shying away from humor, enriching the images of the play with memories of his own youth and dramatic forebodings of the "approaching horizon"...

According to the well-known Polish theater critic Łukasz Drewniak, "The space in Nekrošius' Tuoktuvės" is a sheet of water that reflects people like mirrors. When stirred, it starts to ripple, flash, and reflections increase. The sea of time, the ocean of the past, the dead waters of death are the three-dimensional mirror that Henry entered in his dream..."

November 24 11 o'clock In the Youth Theater, during a meeting with the audience, the actors of the Warsaw National Theater will share their memories and insights about working with E. Nekrošius. The conversation will be moderated by Ł. Drewniak

The cycle of events dedicated to the memory of E. Nekrošius at the Youth Theater will begin on October 31 with the opening of the unique exhibition "Unseen Nekrošius", prepared by the "Fort of Art" department of the Lithuanian Theatre, Music and Cinema Museum, before the director's performance "Cinkas". It was held for the first time at the Lithuanian Theatre, Music and Cinema Museum in 2022. The exhibition exhibits the photographs of Nadežda Gultiajeva, the life and creative companion of E. Nekrošius. Exhibition architect – Marius Nekrošius; curator - Audrius Jankauskas. The exhibition in the theater lobby will be open until November 26.

The creators of the exhibition sought to reveal a different Eimuntas Nekrošiai than many knew him. Legends were created about the director's gloomy manner, his demands on himself, artists, colleagues, and everyone around him. Often, that professional demand and concentration caused fear and tension. But those who worked or were with Eimunt for a longer time saw a completely different side of this creator, a person. The director had a subtle sense of humor and fantasized about various topics. Necrosis was able to sift through the insignificant and inspire others to believe in their abilities. In N. Gultiajeva's photographs, there are those moments of life and work in which Nekrošius is unseen, simple, strange, witty. Alone or surrounded by nature and people close to him. This exhibition is a memory journey of its creators through meetings, works and being together with Eimunt Nekrošius.

The Youth Theater became the first creative home of director Eimuntas Nekrošius. Here, in 1977, he made his debut with the play "Taste of Honey". Later, he created the plays "The Square", "Pirosmani, Pirosmani...", "Love and Death in Verona", "A Day Long as Centuries", "Uncle Vania", "The Nose". They established the phenomenon of "Nekrošius Theater" and changed the theater world.

November 4 the documentary essay "Eimuntas Nekrošius - the beginning" directed by A. Liuga will be shown. This is a reflection of the theater of that time, created with the help of photos and footage of performances. If you look at the images captured by photographers Stanislaus Kairis, Audrias Zavadskis and cameraman Donatas Buklis, you can discover in them the "lost time" moments of Nekrošius' performances. During his youth, the theater seemed more real than the surrounding reality. A utopian effort to relive those moments…

During the events dedicated to the memory of Eimunts Nekrošius, the Youth Theater invites you not only to remember the work of one of the most outstanding artists of our time, who left Anapilin five years ago, but also to think about what she tells us today.
