After fabric factories stopped in China due to the coronavirus epidemic, the Vilnius furniture and decorative fabric production company "Audejas" is preparing to form a third shift, waiting for new machines to arrive in a month and hoping to increase capacity by more than 50 percent, writes "Verslo žinios".
"We feel much more interest from buyers than before. European furniture manufacturers have so far bought the largest quantities of fabrics in Asia, at low prices. Now the price has become less important for them, it is much more important to stock up on production," said Darius Liutkevičius, CEO of "Audeja" to the daily newspaper.
Now "Audejas" produces more than 1,2 mln. meters of fabric and does not use the full production capacity yet. Last year, sales revenue increased by 11 percent, up to 5 million. euros, and the previously unprofitable company made a profit.
